The Victoria Region, its wines and correct wine serving temperature

Victoria is one of Australia's most renowned wine regions, and for good reason. The state's diverse climate and soils produce some of the country's finest wines, ranging from bright, fruity whites to rich, full-bodied reds.

The region has a long history of viticulture, with the first vines being planted in the early 1800s. Since then, Victoria has become home to hundreds of wineries, many of which are world-renowned.

The Cool Climate Wine Region of Victoria extends from Yarra Valley in the northeast down to Mornington Peninsula in the south. This region is responsible for producing some of Victoria's most iconic wines, including Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. The cooler climate allows these grapes to retain their acidity, resulting in wines that are vibrant and fresh.

The Warm Climate Wine Region of Victoria extends from the Murray Darling region in the northwest down to the Grampians in the southwest. This region is home to some of Australia's most famous red wine styles, such as Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. The warm climate allows these grapes to ripen fully, resulting in wines that are concentrated and full-bodied.

Victoria is also home to a number of sparkling wine producers, who create world-class bubbly using the traditional méthode champenoise
